Free range eggs

We started the current working model as a pilot project on production of free range eggs (pasture raised layers as opposed to indoor confinement) using sustainable agriculture principles. This was a new endeavor to Rwanda and we overcame many barriers to introduce this innovative idea to the Rwandan market. The pilot turned out to be very successful, and we then combined it with fruits production on the same plot with the idea that chickens’ manure would fertilize fruit trees in a natural and sustainable way and ripe dropped fruits would benefit to the diet of pastured layers.
